15.   South Africa: pair of trench art ashtrays, cut down 25 pounder 1940 shell cases with a 20mm cartridge and head mounted in the middle, one with the Union General Service Springbuck cap badge and the other with the S.A. Artillery cap badge mounted on the side, both VGC. $ 30.00

16.   U.K: WWI brass ashtray, with three crossed .303 bullets as legs, badge with AMIENS in center of ashtray, and four bullet heads around edge, VGC. $ 5.00

 

Beer Mugs, England

1.      First Surrey Rifles presentation mug, large, stands 17cm high, 13cm across the top, silver plated, three large handles, inscribed FIRST SURREY RIFLES, PRESENTED TO COLOUR SERG.H.C.E.SAXBY by his Comrades in B COMPANY 2nd AUG 1890, stamped underneath FR EPNS and FW over an S within a shield, a magnificent mug, quite a show piece, in very good condition for its age. Who has C/Sgt. Saxbys medals? $ 300.00

2.      Royal Naval Association, on one side the RNA badge in gilt with name M.A.WICKSTEED below, and on the other side the Royal Navy ensign flag in colour with R.N.A. in black above and SALISBURY BRANCH 1976 below, all on a light blue ceramic mug, made by Norbel Potteries, Salisbury, VGC. (Note: Mike Wicksteed became an officer in the Rhodesian Air Force Volunteer Reserve and another of his beer mugs is listed here.) 20.00

3.      Royal Navy: HMS Norfolk, ships crest in white on a clear glass mug, near mint. $ 10.00

4.      Royal Navy: Pewter beer mug with two Vikings and a handle that is in the form of the bow of a Viking boat, engraved CCY A.HAINES, PRESIDENT, SNCO CLUB, KOLSAS, NORWAY, 1 APR 70 to 31 MAR 71, some dents around the rim, otherwise VGC. $ 10.00

 

Beer Mugs, Rhodesia and Zimbabwe

All ceramic with the units emblems on them, all made in Rhodesia unless otherwise stated.

1.      B.S.A. Police Centenary 1889 – 1989, their badge, similar to CO 3354 with Q/C and scroll with motto underneath, all in blue on a cream coloured ceramic mug, VGC. $ 45.00

3.      B.S.A. Police, Operation Tangent J.O.C. Wankie 1977. white ceramic with blue BSAP badge on front and two terrorists in camo, within telescopic sights, sitting in a rubber boat on a river on the back, small chip on base, hardly noticeable, otherwise VGC. $ 55.00

4.      Copper beer mug with three triangles, facing point down, above SALISBURY, above 1963, possibly a copper mine emblem, VGC. $ 20.00
