There is some confusion between the Engineers and Artillery company flashes as both seem to have worn the same colours or a very slight difference in shade of the red/maroon and dark blue. I have bought company flashes from both ex-Engineer and ex-Artillery soldiers and have found them to be of the same colours and patterns. I list them as I buy them, i.e., if I buy it from an Engineer then I list it as Engineers, and the same with Artillery. I have not seen any company flashes in the colours that are shown on page 7 of Dudley Walls book Starting Out Collecting South African Militaria.
